Karan Johar admits that Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma’s Bombay Velvet was a disaster!
The famous director, producer and actor gets chatty at the Kapoor and Sons trailer launch
Karan Johar or KJo as he is fondly called, is a big director and producer that the entire industry respects and admires. He has given us a lot of memorable films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham and My name is Khan. Karan has also acted in several movies DDLJ, Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, but he only made cameo appearances. The one film where he played a full featured character was Bombay Velvet. Karan played the suave and dangerous antagonist Kaizad Khambatta, and looks like he regrets his decision.
During the trailer launch event of his upcoming movie in production, Kapoor and Sons, Karan was asked if he was considering to act in another movie, to which he replied that after Bomabay Velvet, no one would take him in their movie as an actor. Here is what KJo exactly said exactly,” I am waiting for a role. After a disastrous debut like Bombay Velvet, no one offered me any role. But I am waiting for a role.”
This is one of those times when the famous celebrity actually admitted a mistake. Of course Karan has always been a frank one and takes jibes and insults sportingly and also does not hold back in handing out snide remarks of his own. We salute KJo that he actually accepted the truth but we don’t know if Anurag Kashyap will take it so well.
