Yipee! Kangana Ranaut’s Queen to be remade in Tamil and Telugu!
Veteran actress turned director Revathi will be directing this project
One of the best and most acclaimed films of 2013 was the Kangana Ranaut starrer comedy-drama film Queen. The story is about an innocent Delhi girl Rani, who takes a trip to Europe after a botched marriage with her lover. The film is about how she discovers new, bold and amazing sides of herself which she never knew existed. Now it looks like this epic movie is going to get a much required remake.
A source was quoted as saying to IANS,” Revathi has been roped in to direct the remake. While the lead cast is yet to be finalized, the film will have dialogues in both the languages by actor Suhasini Mani Ratnam. Suhasini has finished worked on the first half of the film. She’ll spend next couple of months finish work on the second half”. The source also added that,” By October or November, the film will most likely go to the sets.”
There was also an exciting rumour that actor Prashant will be playing the character of Vijay from Queen. However, the film’s producer Thiyagarajan has denied these reports. “ Prashanth is busy with other projects. I’m not going to pressurise him to be part of the remake. His presence would definitely add some value to the project, but the choice to act or not is at his discretion.”, the producer was quoted as saying.
Also the role of Prashanth, should he choose to accept it, will be an unconventional one with a negative shade to it. So he may not be willing to play the role, the produced also added. The main cast is yet to be finalized, but the prospect certainly looks very exciting.
