Pawan Kalyan and Devi Sri Prasad fail to impress with Sardaar Gabbar Singh title song
The song starts out promising but fizzles after sometime
So today is turning out to be a very exciting day for Pawan Kalyan fans as the teaser of Sardaar Gabbar Singh followed by the title track has been released. Let us take a look at how well the title track Sardaar actually is.
Personally, the song was somewhat disappointing. It has a rock song feel to it with a liberal use of electric guitars with a high pitch tuning. Rock music lovers might enjoy the beginning. Benny Dayal has crooned for this number, although if you listen to the song the voice is so unlike him that it actually becomes a bit off putting. After the awesome beginning, there is not much happening in the music department. In fact, those who have listened to the title track of Gabbar Singh can clearly see that the score for both the songs is actually the same.
There is more focus on the vocals and the lyrics. Coming to the lyrics, it is nothing but an ode to the character Sardaar, that is all. The entire song is about how awesome he is, that he is bullet proof, invincible, a lawless cop. It sounds fun for a while but then the lyrics which implies the same thing over and over becomes boring and repetitive. The chorus of Gabbar Singh is somewhat of a saving grace and tries to maintain the energy of the song.
In the end it is an average song and it is very surprising that a music composer of DSP’s calibre has come up with something like this.
You can listen to the title track here and judge for yourself…
